Puja Service Policies

Cost & Payment Policy

Payable to Temple: Cash or Check to "Hindu Temple of Central Indiana" (HTCI).

Payment can be made on the day of the puja with the priest or in advance at the temple.

  • Standard Charges: Costs vary based on the distance of the service location from the temple.
  • Facility Charges: For Private Puja/Service scheduled at the temple, additional facility charges apply for dining hall/kitchen usage.
  • Devotee Responsibility: Basic Puja setup has to be done by devotees. You should be ready with the item list suggested by the priest.
  • Surcharge Policy: Additional charges of $50/hour will apply if the delay is because of a devotee's unpreparedness or if the time of the puja is changed within 48 hours notice.
Payable Directly to Priest (Not included in Service Cost)
1. Mileage:

Transportation is at the devotee's discretion. You may pick up/drop off the priest.

If the priest drives: 58.5 cents/mile (IRS 2022 guidelines) calculated to and from the temple. This is NOT charged by the Temple and is paid to the Priest.
2. Dakshina:
No religious rite is complete without Dakshina. This is NOT charged by the Temple. It should be paid separately to the priest after the Puja, based on your satisfaction, time devoted, and the complexity of the ceremony.

Temple & Safety Policy

  • Safety First: The safety of our Priests, Employees, and Devotees is paramount. Where applicable, the devotee must obtain all city permissions, have adequate insurance, undertake regulatory compliance, and adhere to fire codes.
  • Devotee Responsibility: You are solely responsible for arrangements including sound/volume levels, any fires lit (Havan), and handling of Puja materials.
  • Arrival & Cleaning: For Puja scheduled at temple locations, devotees are expected to arrive 30 minutes prior. It is the devotee's responsibility to clean the puja area after the service.
  • Scheduling: Private puja at the temple can be scheduled only during official temple timings listed on our website.

Cancellation Policy

Change in date, time, or location of service must be notified 7 days in advance to avoid a change fee.

Option: The entire money can be donated to the Temple without any cancellation fee.
