Shaivite - Tamil - Hindu Priest

Full-time Temple Premises

The Hindu Temple of Central Indiana (HTCI) is seeking a dedicated, qualified, and service-oriented full-time Hindu Priest to support the spiritual needs of our diverse and growing community. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Agama Shastras, proficient in daily and special rituals, and committed to upholding the sanctity and traditions of Sanatana Dharma.

Primary Duties:

  • Performing Nithya Pujas for Temple deities

  • Conducting special pujas (Satyanarayana, Navdurga, etc.)

  • Havans / Homams

  • Leading devotional chantings

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Vedic rituals and Agama Shastra (Smartha, Vaishnava, or Shaivite)

  • Fully qualified to perform Shodasha Karmas

  • Ability to conduct Shraddha and cremation ceremonies

  • Valid certification from a recognized Hindu religious institution or university

  • Proficiency in Tamil (Required), Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi

  • Working knowledge of English

  • Friendly, welcoming demeanor with strong devotion and professionalism

  • Ability to collaborate with staff, committees, and volunteers
